Once everything is set up and students have access to the two programs, they may start the activity:
- Have students spend time over a day or two practicing reading their Storybird story aloud. They need to work on fluency.
- When students feel confident in their fluency, they will record themselves reading using the Audacity program.
- Once they have finished recording, have them save it.
- Follow the instructions on PodOmatic to upload the file to the site.
Why I Chose This Tool:
I chose to use Audacity and PodOmatic because they are both free and easy to use. PodOmatic also allows you to keep an updated podcast of your audio uploads so that they could be used for a class iPod for Listen to Read stations if you get a coy of the stories.
